Lars Barfod joins Alter-G as CEO
November 12, 2007

Specialized treadmill maker Alter-G Inc. hired Lars Barfod as its CEO.

He takes over from Steve Rothenberg, who had been interim CEO of the Menlo Park company since early this year.

Barfod was president and CEO of Elsevier MDL, a biology research software company. He's also worked in the past at Genentech (NYSE: DNA) and Novo Nordisk (NYSE: NVO).

Alter-G makes a treadmill that supports part of a runner's body weight. The device is useful in recovery from injuries and other types of training.
