Jamba Juice Recognized as "Fit Friendly

ValleyCare Health System and Jamba Juice are the first East Bay organizations to be recognized as "fit friendly," under the American Heart Association's new Start program.

The companies must meet certain criteria, such as offering employees physical support, increasing healthy options at work and promoting a wellness culture.
 
Jamba Juice, which has said is moving its headquarters from San Francisco to Emeryville sometime this spring, received a "Community Initiative Award" for its effort promoting fitness in the community as well as the workplace. The company has sponsored activity programs for kids, built community play spaces and supported physical education programs.
