NovaBay Drug Does Well in Early Safety Test

NovaBay Pharmaceuticals Inc. said a drug candidate aimed at resistant infections did well in a Phase I trial.
The Emeryville company (AMEX: NBY) is testing the drug, NVC-422, against bacteria resistant to other drugs. It has started a second Phase I trial to test the safety of higher doses of the drug, and will report those results by early next year.
