Mendel Biotechnology Inks Biofuels Deal

Mendel Biotechnology Inc. said it has established a partnership with Richardson Seeds Ltd. and MMR Genetics LLC to jointly research, develop and breed new cultivated plants for the biofuels market Terms of the partnership were not released. MMR and Hayward's Mendel will establish a bioenergy nursery together to breed new, high-performance sorghum with unique biofuels characteristics. Richardson Seeds of Vega, Texas will eventually produce commercial quantities of the plants.
