Biography

Doug Collom brings a wide range of experiences and expertise in the service of solving business problems.  He was a corporate partner for over 20 years at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati where he advised both private and public companies in public and private financings, M&A, governance and board issues, and employment and compensation matters.  In the course of his practice as legal counsel to companies principally in the technology sector, Doug attended countless board and strategic management meetings.

From there, Doug transitioned to the Wharton School, a renowned business school based in Philadelphia, and headed up Wharton’s San Francisco campus for seven years as Vice Dean.  During his tenure as the head of this campus, Doug’s principal responsibilities included marketing, brand awareness, organization of community initiatives and strategic activities both on the West Coast and abroad.   Doug for many years has taught and continues to teach several graduate-level business courses at Wharton’s campuses in both Philadelphia and San Francisco; these courses focus on venture capital and early stage companies in substantially all facets of organization and finance.

Doug also is a bi-monthly co-host on SiriusXM’s “Business Radio Powered by the Wharton School,” where he interviews CEOs, VCs and thought leaders from the San Francisco Bay Area startup community.

Doug is an avid glider pilot, cyclist, fly fisherman, motorcyclist and swimmer.

Doug has a BA in history from Stanford University, and a JD from the UCLA School of Law.
