Jim Cook’s passion is sharing his 30+ years of experience in scaling some of Silicon Valley's most iconic brands at their earliest foundations (Intuit, Netflix, Mozilla/Firefox). Jim has been mentored and coached by some of the best in the industry (Bill Campbell/Reid Hoffman) and is deeply networked into the venture capital community. Jim is currently the active CFO of Orbital Insight, a Sequoia Capital and GV-backed Series E company.
Jim’s superpower is focusing on building great teams and cultures, keeping it real through transparent operations and communications, and coaching influence to align a company’s strategic plan with proper operational structures and executional accountability.
Jim has served on several Boards. He is active in several Silicon Valley Networks including the OG (Operators Guild), is a fellow at Sapphire Ventures and FOG Advisors/Ventures, and has recently launched his own BenchBoard CFO Leadership Network.
Jim is the author of several public presentations and is portrayed in books, including That Will Never Work, by Marc Randolph and Netflixed by Gina Keating, podcasts, and now an award-winning film documentary, Netflix vs. The World.
