Rob Chamberlin is an operator-turned-advisor with more than 20 years of experience in building, scaling, and successfully exiting technology-enabled businesses.
Most recently, Rob founded and led the Northern California operations of Security 101, starting in early 2019 and growing the business into one of the company’s largest franchises. Under his leadership, the business scaled rapidly, qualified for the SDM 100 List (Top 100 U.S. commercial security companies), and was ultimately acquired by private equity, providing a successful outcome for shareholders and long-term continuity for customers and employees.
Previously, he co-founded DataXoom, a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) serving mid-market and enterprise customers with 4G, 5G, LTE, and IoT connectivity solutions. Rob served in multiple executive roles, including Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Revenue Officer, helping the company grow from startup to scale before its acquisition by ScanSource, a publicly traded strategic buyer. He continues to serve on the company’s Board of Directors.
Earlier in his career, Rob founded True Wireless, growing the company from a lean startup into one of the nation’s largest value-added wireless resellers, serving enterprise and Fortune 500 clients. The company was recognized on the San Francisco Business Times Top 100 Fastest-Growing Private Companies and the Inc. 5000 list.
Rob has been a member of the Alliance of CEOs since 2009, collaborating with experienced CEOs navigating scale, liquidity events, and complex operating environments. In addition to peer participation, Rob meets with CEOs applying for membership, with a focus on leadership maturity, operational rigor, and strategic judgment. This role provides continuous insight into patterns of successful growth, exit readiness, and executive effectiveness.
In addition to his operating background, Rob has served in leadership and governance roles within the industry, including multiple positions on the ASIS – San Francisco Board of Directors and as a board member of BOMA Oakland/East Bay (2021–2023).
Currently, Rob works with founders, management teams, and investors on growth strategy, positioning, and M&A transactions — bringing an operator’s perspective to exits, capital events, and long-term value creation.
Outside of work, Rob enjoys spending time with his wife and three adult sons, NFL football, and discovering great wines in Napa Valley.
