Biography
Ron Yu, Managing Partner of ExecCatalyst, is a high-tech executive coach with a passion for helping C-level executives grow as leaders. For his clients, Ron confronts team alignment challenges and people-friction, which impede business execution, and creates high-functioning teams that communicate and collaborate effectively.
Prior to this and throughout his 20+ year career, Ron has held executive and VP roles in marketing and customer service for some of Silicon Valley’s best-known companies, including Oracle, Salesforce.com, Hyperion, Portal Software, Openwave Systems, in addition to several venture-backed startups. Having first-hand experience in M&A transactions provides Ron with an “insider’s view” to read motivations and to assess cultural fit misalignments and other factors of post-deal integration failure.
Ron earned a BS in Math/Computer Science from UCLA, and successfully completed the Executive Management Program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business. He is a Platinum Partner of Financial Executives International – Silicon Valley, a national membership organization for CFOs with 12,000 members across 65 chapters. In the community, Ron has been active as a head coach for AYSO, a USTA men’s team tennis captain, and cubmaster for Boy Scouts of America.
