Discussion Overview

This twentieth session explored one of the most pressing challenges facing organizations today: how to accelerate AI adoption while protecting sensitive company data.

As AI tools become embedded in everyday workflows, employees are increasingly using them with or without formal approval. This reality raises important questions about data governance, intellectual property protection, security, compliance, and vendor lock-in. During this Roundtable, CEOs explored practical approaches to enabling AI innovation while maintaining control over proprietary information and business-critical data.

Featured speaker Frik Botha, CEO of Airdocs Global, shared how his organization is developing an AI governance strategy that balances innovation, security, and operational effectiveness. Drawing on his experience leading a global business, Frik discussed how to establish guardrails for AI usage, evaluate AI platforms, protect organizational knowledge, and maintain ownership of critical data assets as AI adoption scales. The discussion was moderated by Matthew Swanson, CEO of StaffAI and Managing Partner of Silicon Valley Software Group, who provided additional perspective on emerging AI risks, governance frameworks, and the strategic role of data management in enterprise AI deployments.
