Apexigen Announces First Patient Dosed in Phase 1b/2 Clinical Trial

Apexigen,announced that the first patient has been dosed in a new multicenter Phase 1b/2 clinical trial. Under a clinical trial collaboration with Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, Apexigen is evaluating the safety, tolerability and preliminary efficacy of Apexigen's APX005M in combination with Bristol-Myers Squibb's Opdivo (nivolumab) in second-line metastatic NSCLC patients who have failed prior chemotherapy and in metastatic melanoma patients who have failed prior I-O therapy. Alliance member Xiaodong Yang is the President & CEO of Apexigen.

Savioke’s “Little Butler Robot” Wins International Inventors’ Award

The 13th Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Robotics and Automation Award (IERA) was presented to the Relay butler robot. Made by Savioke, led by Alliance member Steve Cousins, the little robot completes deliveries in hotels, hospitals or logistics centers.

New Evidence of Sutro ADC’s Potency in Human Tumor Xenografts
July 17, 2017
Sutro Biopharma announced that its antibody drug conjugate targeting the CD74 cell surface protein in hematologic B-cell malignancies, has been shown to eradicate tumors in human xenograft models of non-Hodgkin lymphoma and multiple myeloma. Alliance members Bill Newell and Ed Albini lead Sutro Biopharma.

HyTrust Raises $36M and Acquires DataGravity
July 11, 2017
HyTrust announced that it has acquired data visibility and security startup, DataGravity. Additionally, the company announced that it has raised a $36 million Series E round led by Advance Venture Partners. HyTrust plans to use the new funding to expand its sales and marketing teams and fund new product development. Alliance member John De Santis is the CEO of HyTrust.

First Patient Treated with CytomX Therapeutics‘ Investigational Probody Drug

The first patient has been treated with CytomX Therapeutics‘ investigational Probody drug conjugate CX-2009 in a new phase 1/2 clinical trial. The drug candidate is designed to target a surface molecule found in a number of solid tumors, including castration-resistant prostate cancer. CytomX is led by Alliance member Sean McCarthy.
