Switch Bioworks Awarded $2M in Federal Funding for Technology to Reduce Synthetic Nitrogen Fertilizer in Crop Production

Switch Bioworks, a biotechnology company developing low-cost and sustainable fertilizers, has been awarded a $2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) to research and develop a biotechnological approach turning microbes into nitrogen fertilizer producers. Ashvattha Therapeutics Announces $50 Million Financing Extension and Interim Phase 2 Ophthalmology Trial Results
January 13, 2025
Ashvattha Therapeutics (“Ashvattha”), a clinical-stage company advancing a new class of nanomedicine therapeutics that traverse tissue barriers to selectively target and reprogram activated cells in regions of inflammation, announced additional financing as an extension of its Series B of up to $50 million led by Tribe Capital with existing investors led by Natural Capital. The funding will enable Ashvattha to complete the ongoing Phase 2 ophthalmology trial and Phase 1/2 neuroinflammation trial. Alliance member Jeff Cleland is the CEO of Axhvattha.

Serve Robotics Secures $86 Million in New Financing

Serve Robotics, a leading autonomous delivery company, announced that it raised gross proceeds of $86 million during December 2024, bringing total gross proceeds raised in 2024 to $167 million. Since its spinout from Uber in 2021, the Company has secured approximately $220 million in total funding. Alliance member Ali Kashani is the CEO of Serve Robotics.
