ALX Oncology Receives U.S. FDA Orphan Drug Designation for Evorpacept

ALX Oncology Holdings (“ALX Oncology”) (Nasdaq: ALXO) a clinical-stage immuno-oncology company developing therapies that block the CD47 checkpoint pathway, announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration granted orphan drug designation (“ODD”) to Evorpacept, a next-generation CD47 blocker, for the treatment of patients with gastric cancer and gastroesophageal junction cancer. Proximie, led by Alliance member Nadine Hachach-Haram, has offered its technology to Jhpiego, a global health non-profit working in 40-plus countries, to improve obstetric surgical care for women by expanding and enhancing the learning and mentorship in Jhpiego's Obstetric Safe Surgery project now underway in five hospitals in Makueni County. The goal of the 22-month project is to support the government of Kenya's commitment to reduce maternal and newborn deaths and obstetric-related injuries by improving the quality of caesarean sections.
